Our New Tricks

Just yesterday, the two kids each learned a new "trick." A2 rolled over from tummy to back for the first time (no picture because I wasn't quick enough with the camera during that one time that he rolled over). And A1 started potty training and has been doing a good job of telling Mommy that she needs to use the potty as she's filling her diaper (no picture because that would just be gross).

What new tricks have your kids done recently?

A Very Merry (and Late) Christmas!

I'm sorry that I haven't written for quite a while. Our holidays were wonderful and filled with lots of fun, which left little time for blogging. (Since we returned, however, I have no excuse for not blogging - I'm just lazy.)

We were able to leave a day earlier than thought for our holidays in Utah, so we surprised our families with an extra day of celebrating. We arrived in time to decorate Christmas cookies with the Blackburns, A1's first time decorating cookies. Everything was okay until she got a little frosting on her thumb.

We told her to lick it off, which instantly led to her eating all the cookies she decorated. We opened presents and had a lot of fun with the grandparents and cousins. A2 especially had fun with Grandpa.

A1 became a mommy over Christmas and now takes very good care of her baby Lexie, while I take care of A2. It was the perfect gift!

The Jensen family acted out the nativity story, with A1 as an angel. Here she is with her cousin and best friend, Shaylie.

They were so cute together the whole vacation. They played together constantly and Shaylie was very good about letting A1 tag along with her.

She even taught her how to play "Ring Around the Rosie" and then continued to play it for the next 7 days.

And A2 had the best time with Grandpa. He is such a Grandpa's Boy!

It snowed a lot while we were in Utah, so R took A1 outside to take advantage of the winter wonderland. She cried when R wanted to bring her inside after nearly 2 hours of walking around and around. She describes the snow as "cold and squishy" (both good things, judging by how much she wanted to continue playing). Here she is learning how to make snow angels from her cousing Bridger.

Beyond Christmas, our vacation was completely filled with activities. My sister got married to R's younger brother's best friend, whom we love to pieces. You may remember that the two of them came out to watch A1 when I gave birth to A2. Anyhoo, we had a great time at the reception, with Mommy dancing with A2 and Daddy dancing with A1 (in her new flower girl dress).

And a fantastic picture of R with his "little" brother, the best man. (By the way, we compared baby pictures over Christmas and discovered that A2 looks a lot like Dallen, which gives me great hope that we may have some tall genes expressed in our kids' generation.)

We also blessed A2 while we were back in Utah. R gave a wonderful blessing, and A2 only cried during half of it!

Thank you to everyone who made our vacation so memorable, especially our families. We can't wait to see you again!

P.S. I am sending out very late Christmas eCards. If you don't get one in your email within the next few days, that probably means I don't have your email address. Please send it to me and I'll send you an e-card.
